Biography

Katherine D. Sheriff joined the firm in August 2017 as an Associate Attorney practicing in the areas of insurance defense and motor vehicle liability. Previously, Ms. Sheriff worked as a product liability attorney for a boutique law firm in Atlanta specializing in catastrophic injury litigation. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. Ms. Sheriff received her law degree from Emory University School of Law in 2016 where she served as online editor for the Emory Law Journal and represented her graduating class as its State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division Fellow.

In addition to being active in the State Bar and her community, Ms. Sheriff is passionate about autonomous technologies. After completing a series of papers on the liability implications of autonomous vehicle technologies, Ms. Sheriff hopes to maintain momentum by narrowing her research to cybersecurity and insurance for autonomous vehicles. She looks forward to tying her research to everyday practice to make new ideas accessible to practitioners. Her manuscript focuses on what role the insurance industry will play in getting autonomous vehicles to market.
